THE FUTURE OF TECHNOLOGY

Once upon a time the world operated very differently. I still remember a time when people actually communicated with each other. When i was a child i would wake up and go outside just to find my friends. I would not text or call them i would go to their house, knock on the door, then get them to come out and play. The key world in that context is "play". We would interact with each other playing games outside, chasing girls, and cracking jokes. When you compare that to today's society of youth, they are not at all commensurate. Technology in today's world has created a large lack of communication with people but it is more effective with the kids because they are being trained not to actually have to be active outside with each other. As technology constantly grows, they will become more stationary with their age growths. During last summer, I asked my nephews why are they not outside playing. They said they did not feel like it. As they told me this, i noticed one was playing his game system and the other was texting on his phone. Technology has also played a large role in the growing rate of obesity due to the lack of activities being consumed by today's society. "not only are we opening ourselves up to newer methods of bombardment, but we are also becoming more prone to multitasking, which means eating on the run which means eating on the run and doing whatever we can to save time" (Aalai, Psychology Today.

We also have to look at what Steven Hawkins has been warning society about for a long time. Technology can become extremely dangerous with the growth of autonomous machines which will put eventually put many people out of work if they reach their possible potential. There has been talks of robots to start working at fast food restaurants and even has been tested out. It is even going as far as to entering in the world of aviation. Amazon has been testing drones to start delivering packages and recently conducted its 1st successful drone delivery. This is something people must pay close attention to. As humans grow smarter, technology is growing just as smart. It is my fear along with many others, that one day it will grow outside of our control.

One of the biggest problems with growing technology is the constant growth of lack of privacy. It has recently been revealed that Samsung's new smart TV's is possibly recording its users and sharing the information with unknown third parties. My personal belief is that it is with the government. Our daily activities are being monitored and is becoming worst with many of the bills that has been getting passed. The government always use the same excuse which is "its for our own good" when in reality we know that its just a invasion of our privacy and it is almost impossible to avoid it. Wherever technology is in use, its a possibility of privacy being violated. So is technology a good thing? Well to many it is, but in my opinion it can be but it has to be contained. If not, it will become contingent for disaster in the future to come.
